Racial warm-up on stage: Systematization of an antiracist device
Keywords:
Racial Warming, Sociodramatic Experience, Racism, Anti-racist AwarenessAbstract
This work presents a group intervention carried out with fourteen participants at a mental health event in Rio de Janeiro, adopting a qualitative research approach using methods such as sociodrama, Theatre of the Oppressed, and the Black Experimental Theatre (TEN). The experience followed the stages of sociodrama, aiming to promote antiracist attitudes through dramatic action. To achieve this purpose, classical psychodrama techniques were employed, along with forum theatre and group therapy. During the dramatizations, participants assumed different roles, allowing the analysis of oppressive dynamics. The intervention contributed to the recognition of racist behaviors and the development of antiracist stances. The study concludes that the fight against racism requires accountability and mobilization from everyone.
