Abstract

This study sought to understand how changes in social roles occur in people undergoing palliative care, in addition to bringing new forms of knowledge and practices through psychodrama and palliative care. Semi-structured interviews were conducted in person throughout the research process. This study emphasizes humanization. In this sense, it did not seek to simply present data, but also to tell a little about life stories. It was concluded that changes in roles occurred throughout the lives of these people and not suddenly, when they discovered their illnesses. These changes continue to occur at every moment, as well as the understanding and acceptance of the finitude of life, throughout the construction of the being, not only through the illness.
